Stanka Gjurić is a prominent Croatian poet, writer and filmmaker. Her work has been translated in several languages and she has established herself as a cultural representative through her poetry expression. In 2011 she won the Poetry Prize at the Italian International Awards for poetry ‘NOSSIDE’ in Reggio Calabria (Italy), which was administered under the auspices of UNESCO (Unesco World Poetry Directory). Over 360 authors from 64 different countries took part in the competition. The artists were able to compete in three areas: writing poetry, poetry on video or computer graphics, and poetry with music. One of the requirements was to participate with poetry that was not awarded at other competitions.

Besides Stanka Gjuric from Croatia, in the same category awards will be given to the poets from Brazil, Argentina, Australia, France, Italy, Nicaragua, Cuba, Macedonia and Mozambique.
Stanka competed with the video poetry under the name WRITTEN, which she directed and photographed. Poets were encouraged to present their poetry and use professional film directors to best present their work and shape the message  in the video. Stanka is proud to be the only award-winning poet from Croatia in 2011. For more information about the artist, visit www.stankagjuric.com.
