New York – Prishtina Press has been following the development of Gem Belushi’s career over the years since he has performed at various concerts in New York and other cities. Gem Belushi has his faithful crowd of followers who have supported him from his first popular politically themed song “No Sir No Sir” to the famous “Red and Black.” For many youth, Belushi’s rap music is a way of life and it resonates with the crowd because one can easily loose oneself to the lyrics, the beat, the feelings and meaning behind his songs. Gem Belushi believes in making his original music and lyrics and he dedicates each song to his fans. His passion, talent and creativity are a testament to the creation of new music revolution – where real stories of the artist serve as the inspiration and empowerment of young Americans.

Born in United States, Gem Belushi is a first-generation Albanian. He is close to his Albanian roots and proudly supports the Albanian community in United States. He is most respected for his thoughtful lyrical rap skills. Belushi has truly re-defined a music genre that has an effect on people and inspires them. In fact, he has helped spread rap music across Europe, with his gained fame in London, Tirana (Albania) and Prishtina (Kosovo).

I grew within the city life in a heavy New York influenced town, Stamford Connecticut. It is considered to some as the “New York’s Backyard”. Living life in a place where there are about 350 Albanian families in a small area, it really makes you feel as if you are living in Kosova or Shqipni but in a futuristic way. I was raised by Albanians, speaking English to each other. Through my music I want to express my life experiences and how I learned the ways of the streets.

Gem Belushi is a strong advocate of providing opportunities to new and upcoming American-Albanian female artists, whom he will reveal to the public with the launch of his record label “EU – Eagle Up aka EU Gang”.

With my UK and US success I am taking my record label from 2006 and making it a legit business called the ‘EU, Eagle Up aka EU Gang’. You can look forward to seeing an American-Albanian female singer who will shock Europe and US as my first artist.

Gem Belushi is humble about his success, and is currently touring in Connecticut, New York and Chicago. He recently performed in Detroit with the top Albanian superstars, Genta Ismajli, Noizy and Capital T.

I first came on the music “radar” with ‘No sir No Sir’, a response to Sin Sizzerb a Serbian rapper who says Kosovo is Serbia. After crushing this rappers career, I was offered to join TBA. Thinking this was the Albanian thing to do, I agreed. I realized in the end that nobody cares for your best interest but yourself. I heard about Noizy before his “Pak me Ndryshe” album, when he was backyard fighting. I contacted him about recording an English record and we finished up a song called “The Guns”.

Gem Belushi is currently working on his new album called “Fast Life”, which will be released on 17 February 2011, the most significant day for all Albanians worldwide – the day Kosovo declared its independence from Serbia. The album has a party/club feel and it reveals Belushi’s life in the past five years. He envisions himself being involved in the music production and will be surprising the public with his great ideas. He continues to influence thousands of people around the world and dominate in the hip-hop music industry. |PrishtinaPress.info
